I told my campaign team that it was important to me to share facts and truths throughout this process. You’ll see in our correspondence to the voters that we cited published articles from credible Newspapers. I wanted people to see that I wouldn’t ask people to elect me in place of the sitting Commissioner without evidence that proves his shortfallings. I strongly believe in speaking the truth.
Psalm 15:1-2 really strikes a chord with me on this subject. “…he that walks UPRIGHTLY, and works righteousness, and speaks the TRUTH in his heart…”
In our truth gathering research, we could not believe some of the facts we found out about the sitting commissioner in the process. It’s been important to me to speak those truths. Not as an attack on my opponent, but rather to educate voters. To let them know the facts and allow them to make an educated decision on how they will choose to vote. When we go door to door, I’ve instructed my team to ask for voter’s consideration. Not for the areas my opponent is failing, but on my own merit.
As we near the end of this election, I ask that you would pray for strength and perseverance over our team. I often refer to this campaign as “we” because I could not do it without my team of volunteers and supporters. We will continue to be attacked by the opponent, but in the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew chapter 5, Jesus taught us how to handle these situations.
We will continue to stand on the truth. We will continue to cite our sources. We will continue to pray and believe that God will have favor over us. We will continue to press forward, knowing that we have held true to our values.
